GIRLS FOOTY
Join the Beena Lionesses aT MJFC!
At Murrumbeena Junior Football Club, we are dedicated to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for girls to play football. Our primary goal is for girls to enjoy the game while developing their skills and fostering friendships.
Age Groups
This season, we are excited to offer teams for girls in the following age groups:
U10,
U11,
U13,
U15, and
U18
Our club competes in the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL), and all our coaches are accredited through the SMJFL, ensuring a high standard of coaching and support.
Pathways
MJFC was proud to be the first SMJFL club to become an AFL chartered Women and Girls Club. By signing the Women & Girls Community Football Charter, we commit to championing women’s and girl’s football through four key principles: opportunity, visibility, access, and investment.
Success Stories
Our partnership with the St Kilda FC’s Next Generation Academy (NGA) for selected players aged 11 to 15 collaboration enhances our existing interleague program, also known as the AFL VIC Junior Metro Development Series (AVJMDS), providing players with access to top-level coaching and personal development.
Additionally, following the U15 Interleague program, pathway players will have the opportunity to transition to the SMJFL Coates Talent League club partners, including Sandringham Dragons, Oakleigh Chargers, and Dandenong Stingrays.
Our U16 girls team proudly clinched the grand final last year, showcasing the talent and dedication within our club.
Game Day
Games are held on Sundays, with fixtures available on our website. We ensure that our younger teams (U10) have modified rules to support skill development, while older teams transition to full-sized games as they progress.
Get Involved
Whether you’re a seasoned player or new to the game, MJFC welcomes all girls who want to be part of our football community. Join us and experience the joy of playing footy while making lifelong friends!
